Welcome to Benton REA. When you receive electricity from Benton REA, you are a member-owner of your electric cooperative. As such, we must have a signed membership card before we can provide electricity. There are three ways to get a signed membership card to Benton REA:
- Click on the Membership Card button to the right to get an Adobe Acrobat pdf file of the membership card. Print out the card, fill it out, and either fax it to Benton REA at 1-509-786-0291, or mail it to Benton REA, P.O. Box 1150, Prosser, WA 99350.
- Visit one of our three local offices and fill out a Membership Card.
- Call 786-2913 or 1-800-221-6987 to get a Membership Card faxed to you so you can either mail it or fax it back to Benton REA.
Deposit for Residential Service
Security is required prior to receiving electricity from Benton REA. There are two options to secure your residential electric account:
- Pay a $200 deposit (click on the Payments button to the left for one-time payment options)
- Provide a letter of credit from the most recent electric supplier indicating a maximum of one late payment in the past 12 months.
Deposit for Non-Residential
Deposits for service other than residential are determined by factors specific to your individual account. Contact Benton REA at 786-2913 or 1-800-221-6987 for more information.
Moving Into an Existing Residence
If you are moving to an existing residence, which is currently or has previously received electricity from Benton REA, click on the Existing Residence button to the right.
New Construction
If you need electricity for a new construction residence,
click on the button New Construction button to the right.
